the taping of the Bronzeville segment for the upcoming 190 North program

Donald R. Curry owner of The Negro League Cafe is interviewed by Lou Canellis
in the bar section of his fabulous new restaurant and lounge located at
301 East 43rd Street. In the background is a larger than life color photograph
of celebrated Negro League baseball players that was gifted to the cafe
by the Chicago White Sox

Unique signage on the storefront features the The Negro League Cafe spelled
out with miniature baseball bats

Left to right in photo: Catrice Hardeman and Camille Edwards serve a neighborhood
customer a freshly prepared ice cream Sunday at the new Ain't That Sweet
Cafe located at 4315 South State Street. The staff of this next generation
urban entrepreneurial business enterprise that was supported by City of
Chicago EZ Funds, are all under 30, and the business which features an
outdoor "Garden Suite" has already built up a significant carry
out lunch clientele, based on careful preparation of healthful sandwiches
and fruit smoothies.
Other prominent Bronzeville tourism attractions that will
be featured in the Sunday night Channel 7 segment of 190 North, will include
visits to the Afrocentric Bookstore and Nicole's new Bronzeville Art Gallery
located in the 47th Market Place facility on Martin Luther King Drive.
